Mercury Retrograde and SNOW!

Well, Mercury and Murphy have been having some fun with me this past month! I haven't been able to get the time to post, or to write the newsletter, but I am still here.

We've got Heather going in for a walking cast on Monday, my storage locker is now about 1/3 emptied and sorted, and we've managed to shovel out for the fourth time since I got here on the 13th of January.

The horses are doing well, the cat's happy, and the chickens are laying to beat the band! But, we are looking at another major winter storm coming over the weekend, so it could be another week or so before I start getting caught up.

Hope you are all doing well, and I'll be back as soon as I can. Looks like rather than being back home for my birthday on the 9th, I'll be here at least until the middle of March - I'll be horse-sitting again for two weeks starting on the 24th.

Midwinter Energy Boosters

Now that the holidays with all their bright lights, glitter and sparkles are over, we can settle into January. Sometimes, once the tree is down, the decorations boxed away for another year, and all the parties and visits are over, it can get pretty boring and plain...

The sun isn't gracing us with noticeably longer days just yet, though we know it will. Winter storms, clouds and cold remind us that the land itself is sleeping. Resting.

All this can lead to some really long nights if you let it!

Winter itself is a time of rest. A time to reflect, organize, plan and simply savor the quiet. Its a time of rejuvenation, and as we move closer to spring, a time of inspiration and anticipation as well.

But, to truly savor the season, sometimes we need some energy boosters – you know – just to stay awake...

Here are a couple tips for those who don't have the luxury of hybernating with the bears!

Skip the Caffeine and Go for a Walk

I know... Its cold. But the fresh air is good for you! And getting your body moving – especially when its cold, sluggish and a little stiff – will boost both health and energy levels!

Indulge your senses while walking, too. Notice the scent of the brisk air, the warmth of the sun where it touches your face, even the flavor of the wind.

Notice the colors around you. Sitting in your chair, it looks all white outside – or worse – all gray. If you get up walking and start to really look at what's around you, you'll discover a fairy-tale landscape full of life and vigor!

Engage ALL of your senses, and soak up all you can – you'll be soaking up energy and a better outlook, too!

The brisk air will help clear all that “gunk” out, and you'll find yourself not only warmer when you return home (or to the office), but your head will be clear, too. And it will last the rest of the afternoon.

Get the blood flowing!

And, if its really harsh outside, do the same thing in the house or office. Just go for “the rounds” and notice things around you.

A caution here: don't notice things like that pile of unpaid bills, unfinished work or unwashed laundry. Notice instead the pictures on the wall, the pretty suit your co-worker is wearing – the good things.

Skip the Carbs at Snack Time and Lunch

Its not all that popular these days unless you're a big Atkins fan, but if you find you just can't keep your eyes open after about 2:00 in the afternoon, leggo the carbs.
Opt for salads or soup rather than a sandwich for lunch. Have fresh fruit and yogurt or cheese for a snack and leave the crackers.

Protein and veggies (and a little... dare I say it? FAT) will boost your energy without raising your blood sugar levels, and therefore there won't be a “crash” mid-afternoon just as the meeting starts or you have to pick the kids up from school.

And please.... stop buying the garbage the government and so-called “nutritionists” tell you about healthy eating. Sooner or later I'm gonna have a blog just on that....

In the meantime, if you are reasonably healthy (meaning no heart problems, no allergies, no diabetes, etc), grab a drumstick, a salad with lots of veggies and not-so-much iceberg (maybe toss on a handful of chopped nuts) and some full-fat cottage cheese with fruit for lunch. Yeah. I said it and I mean it!

Leave the lean skinless breast meat and the low-fat cheese for people that don't know any better. And leave the fake foods on the shelf.

Chocolate, of course (all things in moderation) is a food group all its own!

Stay Hydrated

Yes, with water. But... I'm not an advocate of “enhanced” water unless you need the extra nutrition. Most of us wouldn't know if we did or not, so skip the extra fees.

While we're at it, I'm not a fan of bottled water in any form – but that's a political and financial issue, so I'll leave it alone here. I realize that's probably the best and easiest for those who aren't at home and don't have a well.

Your body will not function if it is dehydrated. You'll feel dizzy, sluggish or sleepy. You'll probably feel stiff, and maybe even bloated. And chances are, you'll think you are hungry.

The only time you are hungry is when your body needs nutrients and fat. Period. Anything else is either actually thirst, or something in your psyche you need to work on. So drink first. And drink water.

Chemicals and sugar deplete water in your system... Caffeine might be a great pick-me-up in the present moment, but you're going to need more of it to get through the rest of the day. Sides... If you're anything like me, coffee after about 11:00 am will mess with my sleep that evening. Ick.

Good, high quality water, and at least a half gallon of it a day (preferably more) is the way to go. Soda, coffee, tea and all the rest might be made with water, but the other stuff in them makes it largely unusable to your body.

Fruit juices are largely sugar. Fructose is something else we need more of in our lives like we need more in-laws. (Actually, mine are pretty great folks, but you know what I mean!) Again, this isn't a food or health blog, but all sugars are not created equal, no matter what the television says. There are times when “natural” doesn't mean “better.”

Check In and Balance

Spend a few quiet moments checking in with your body and your energy system. Discomfort in your body usually associates with energy blocks, and it should be relatively easy to figure out if your Chakras need a little tuning.

If you are healthy to begin with, notice where in your body you feel fatigue. Then, you can simply breathe into those areas.

Because this has a particularly subtle effect – especially for those not used to working with energy – you probably won't notice any immediate change other than perhaps a gentle “easing” in the area.

However, you can try this:

Sit or stand with your feet flat on the floor, and nothing crossed. Put your hands on your legs, or let them simply hang down at your sides.

Tighten the muscles of your core above and below the diaphragm.

Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth, concentrate on the area of your belly button. Try to breath so that only that part of your body moves in and out with each breath – and breathe deeply and slowly.

Do this 5 or 10 times and then relax. See how you feel.

Don't work at this so hard you get cramps or become dizzy – its not that sort of exercise! But, it should make you feel energized and calm.

You have just energized your Solar Plexus Chakra, and helped to balance all the others. As you learn to work more with your personal energy centers, this will become second nature to you.

Garbage In, Garbage Out

While we are on the topic of chemicals and energy, you'd be surprised how much better you feel when you clean up your environment...

I'm not talking about dusting and ridding yourself of all that adorable clutter everywhere – though that will help in more ways than one.

I'm talking about the chemicals we ingest and inhale, and the energies we swim in that even our parents didn't have to deal with.

Cleanse your food before you eat or prepare it. If you stick with me long enough, you'll be doing this energetically as well as physically, just so you know.

I don't watch my diet, and I eat and drink a lot of things we just aren't meant to ingest (soda, coffee, cookies, fast foods etc). But I am healthy. Socially speaking, I guess I am a rare commodity...

I go to a survey site or something and have to wade through a thousand diseases as if everybody were supposed to have one or more of them, and I think how horrible living conditions must be that there are so many diseases – and that they are prevalent enough to warrant listing on a survey about, say, watching television!

Back to cleansing...

Washing your food... I have a rule...

If it comes from the store “fresh” it gets cleaned. I don't care if its green beans or an apple. If its going in my mouth its going under my faucet first. Goes a long way to getting rid of RoundUp and such like things.

Meats are a bit different, as you're not going to get rid of all the crap they feed the animals. Anyone who's allergic to soy (one of the top ten food allergens on the planet, mind you!) can tell you the difference between commercial and real old-fashioned, honest-to-goodness farm-raised meat. Some are sensitive enough that they even react to the anti-biotics and hormones most commercial meat is raised on.

While political pressures have greatly reduced its meaning, organic really is far better for you than most “regular” fare. I prefer labels with “Certified Naturally Grown,” but they are hard to find. I grow most of my own veggies, and intend to grow a lot more in the near future – including most of my meat.

Most can't do that, so my advice is to:

Wash what you can, and cook the hell out of what you can't.

Basically, eat as close to natural as you can while still being comfortable. You will notice that the better you eat, not only the better you will feel, but the less you will eat (and hence you will lose weight.)

Just getting the chemicals off will help you keep energy levels up and improve your health!

Clear the Air!!

Also in this section is pollution. Woodsy and Smokey aside (yea, we all ought to clean up our own messes), there is a form of pollution that most people won't even acknowledge yet. And that is electromagnetic pollution.

Cell phone companies and the military will tell you to buy stock in Reynolds before continuing to read my writings, but there is solid research out there that doesn't just suggest, but readily proves this is so.

It has been shown to affect the migration of birds, fish and other wildlife, is at least partially responsible for the disappearance and death of trillions of bees, and even has been proven to cause what are known as cancer clusters among humans.

Simple answer: EMF protection.

Easy things: use a head-set with your phone instead of holding against your head. Ground your computer, do not sit too close to the source box for wifi or other wireless technologies.

A bit harder: dump the damnable microwave and go back to a land-line. Protect your home (“Google it!). Yes, I'll provide resources for both checking out the science as well as where to get products elsewhere, but for now, we just wanna know (or not...).

(Nope... me neither, though the microwave has always functioned more as a cookie jar or bread box than an appliance for me – but I can't live without my cell phone, or my computer!)

Hardest: If you live within half a mile of a cell or microwave tower – move. Get educated and then get politically and socially active. If not us, then who?!

No matter which you choose, do educate yourself so that you can make the best possible decision for you and your family. When you work with energy consistently like I do, you'll notice more than just the politics.

WTH??

I know you were expecting magick and mystery here, but neither function well if you don't function well. We will get to that.

For right now, we need to start cleaning up our own energies, getting healthy, and with that, the magick comes almost as a by-product.

So – please excuse the multiple trips I made to the soap-box and remember to think of me the next time you need tinfoil!

Its ALL About the Feeling

In the intro posts I've written, I have mentioned feelings before. This is your guidance mechanism as well as a compass. It is also where your true power resides.

Most people confuse feelings with emotions. While similar, they are not exactly the same thing.

There are only two feelings – from which all emotions flow.

You either feel “good” or you feel “bad.”

If you feel good, you experience ease, joy, happiness, love and all the emotions we consider “good.” Apathy, frustration, revenge, anger, rage all feel less “good.” What we call “bad.”

All emotions stem from love. That's it. Love.

Everything is love. Everything.

It has been said that God is Love – and this is true on all levels. Since you are created in God's image (no matter what your religion), you are created in and as Love. Anything else is just not going to feel good.

Negative or “bad” emotions stem from fear. Yet – what is fear? It is a lack of love!

Anger, jealousy, rage, revenge, hatred – all of these are varying degrees of fear. And, if fear is a lack of love, it just shows you how much love you need to bring back into the equation. Right?!

I know... Easier said than done.

After all – there is rape, murder, robbery, violence, war and all sorts of things that create violence, anger, rage and other negative emotions – and rightfully so.

However!!!!

You are the creator of you (as Dee Wallace says)! Created in the “image and likeness” of God means that you are the creator of everything around you. You were created with the same powers of generation and destruction as God. Therefore, it is within your power to control and master both your thoughts and your emotions.

It Ain't About What Your Eyes See...

Its hard work. It takes practice – sometimes lifetimes of practice – but it is your job, and your's alone.

You begin simply by noticing. That's it – sounds simple and it is, but it will only get easier if you apply practice to it.

Notice how you feel when things happen. Notice how you feel as you listen to the radio, watch TV, talk to your children or spouse. Just notice.

Don't DO anything about it – don't beat yourself up for being angry or enraged, don't chastise yourself that you were triggered and certainly don't despair that you sometimes forget. Its OK – nobody ever told you that you are responsible for your own emotions, so its going to take time to figure it all out!

If you feel tension, realize that you need to bring in more love. If you feel anger, sit with it and wait a little while – and remember you need to bring in love to gain understanding.

This does not mean that you have nothing to be angry about! This means that you CHOOSE to not take action until you are calm and can think straight.

I'm not saying not to get angry – there are plenty of things in our world to be angry about! (I am also not saying you should ignore these things.) But what I am saying is to bring love in. With love comes understanding. With understanding comes clarity.

With clarity and understanding, a legitimate and responsible solution will also be more easily attained. A solution that will not only correct the problem (or an aspect of it), but will benefit everyone involved.

In business, this is called a “win-win.” A rather corny term, but it works. Nobody has to lose anything for you or anyone else to have everything and anything desired. But it takes moving from rage to love in order to make that happen.

When the two are one...

In a rather mundane explanation – when your head and your heart work together, (when you are acting both with feeling and clarity) - you are creating the events and circumstances of your life.

Esoterically, when your pineal (thought/vision) and heart (feeling) centers are activated (united), you create a vortex of energy (electromagnetic field), which then “sends” (vibrates) your intentions out into the ethers to – again – materialize (manifest) your desires into your physical reality.

You can do this with anger, hatred and greed, or you can do this with love, joy and excitement! 

The choice is ALWAYS your own. 

And - what you send out is what is coming back. It can be no other way.

I think you can see where I'm going.

The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions

Yes, emotions – because they are degrees of feeling – have power. That is where emotions tie into feeling. The better you can feel, the stronger the attraction – but because we live in a dual situation, the worse you feel, the stronger the attraction as well.

You use them to create circumstances in your life. The problem is – we have already been doing that, and it doesn't work!!

That's primarily because nobody ever told us how “reality” works!! And, when people have tried, the masses generally run for a box of tinfoil or to call the guys with the funny white jackets that have such long sleeves.

All I can do is tell it like it is. I'm not up for a padded room, though I have bought stock in Reynolds...

When you are angry, you try solving problems with varying degrees of violence. This brings violence into your life. This is why Mother Theresa said that she would never join a protest against war, but if anyone would march for peace, she would surely be there. She understood that only by supporting peace can we end war. Using its own negative energy will never work – it will only escalate the situation.

Engaging your heart and head at the same time, with the knowledge that all good things come from love, creates strong love emotions, and from those you will manifest good things, good people, good circumstances and good events.

If you can FEEL love, or joy, or happiness, or even just calm or ease, you can begin to create better things in your life.

But you have to practice.

Fake it Till You Make It

I'm not talking about telling yourself you're a billionaire and then pretending to be on in public when you don't have two thin dimes to rub together... I am talking about re-membering here.

We all spend far too much of our time re-membering every insult, every wise crack, every time someone cut us off on the freeway. For your own good: STOP IT!

Again, this takes noticing and practice...

Try instead to remember the scent of your favorite flower, the first time you drove your very own car, the first time you kissed your lover. Re-member fishing with Grandpa, baking Christmas cookies with Grandma, playing catch with Dad or going to lunch with Mom. Re-Member GOOD things! Fun things! Exciting things!

You don't even have to have something in your memory-bank that relates to what you are wanting to create (which is the beauty of this)!!

If you never seem to have money, you can still intend to get your bills paid by remembering things that make you FEEL great, and attaching the mental picture of you writing out the checks for those bills.  

Once you have yourself feeling good (for whatever reason, or even no reason at all), you simply amplify it and envision what you wish to see in your reality.

Get the feeling down and really, honestly and truly feel it - and keep feeling that way while you envision yourself making bank deposits, writing checks to pay the bills, and seeing your bank balances continue to grow. Feel the sense of accomplishment! Feel the excitement! 

See??

When you go to conjure up something you want, return to those times, feel those feelings, and watch the magick happen!!

About... Belief

A Word or Two About Belief

When you decide to take the leap into metaphysical self-improvement techniques, quantum living and magick, the one thing you will hear from everyone is that you must believe.

They tell you – and I am no different – that your belief is central to your success.

Well, that is true. And, its all fine and good to let people know that right up front. But...

But - HOW????

How the heck do we expect you to believe something works if you are new to it and have never worked with the concept before?

How do you “Know” something is going to work, when on the surface it seems all you are doing is writing nursery rhymes and walking in circles talking to the air?!

I don't.

I do not expect you to believe anything in the beginning. It is folly.

Have you ever tried to believe in something you know little about or have never experienced personally? It is nearly impossible. And, even if you trust me, just because I tell you so doesn't mean it really is. Right?

A few good instructors will tell you this:

You have to experience to learn. You can be instructed – we all can. I can't “teach” you anything!!

All anyone can do is to point you in the right direction, so that you can experience (re-member) for yourSelf.

Until you experience something, you cannot know it. And, to be successful in any endeavor, you have to know – to believe at a soul level – to experience good results with what you are doing!

The Difference Between Believing and Knowing

I might not say this right, but to me, belief is “wanting knowledge to be real.” It is more hope than anything – and it is a practice until you get to the point where you do know. Once you know, there is no need to believe.

Belief almost by nature requires justification. People fight and die for beliefs. However, in knowing, there is calm. There is no need to explain or justify, and there is no need to defend. You simply know.

It doesn't matter anymore what other people think! And, it is no longer an emotional necessity to change anyone else's point of view.

Knowledge is more than power – it is blessed FREEDOM!

For that reason, I start slow. Really slow.

For today, I want to give you a tiny little exercise that you can use to get your first (if you've never encountered this stuff before) glimpse of the power you have within and surrounding you. It is short, sweet and simple -

Play With This -

There is no special position you have to get into and no preliminary work needs be done to successfully feel the energy around you. I want you to sit or stand comfortably – this only takes a few seconds!

Simply put your hands together in front of you as if you were going to clap. Rub your palms together briskly for a couple seconds (no rules), and then pause for a brief moment, before slowly moving them to about 5 or 6 inches apart.

Notice the feeling in your palms, as you SLOWLY bring your hands closer (not touching), and move them back apart a few times.

How does it feel as you move your palms toward each other? Do they tingle? Does it feel like you are pushing them through water, or thick syrup? Is there heat, or cold? Soft? Sticky? Pins and needles?

Notice the physical feelings in your hands.

What you experience IS real!

There are no rules, and everyone feels energy slightly differently. Some will dismiss this as pressure from moving air molecules or some such other pseudo-scientific opinion. Whatever.

I understand, and I feel sorry for those folks. They live in a dead universe made of little more than inert matter.

Its rather like opening a book, reading the table of contents, and then – assuming they understand the material in the rest of the book - putting it back on the shelf. To me, its joyless. That sucks.

Frankly: there wouldn't be air molecules if there were not particles to create them with. Science already proved that those particles are created, as well as held together by the ENERGY of electrons, protons and neutrons in and around the nucleus of an atom. And even each of these have been proven to be composed of even finer ENERGY “particles” and so on and so forth. So there.

Whatever you feel is right for you – the object is to realize that it is a physical, tangible sensation. Don't dismiss this as a fairy tale. The following will help to ground the idea that this energy is not a fantasy. Its not a mirage. Its not fake. Its REAL!
Remember – everything is energy – including YOU!

We live in a living, breathing and CONSCIOUS Universe, filled with wonder, magic and mystery!!

A Mantra to Contemplate

I took a course, once upon a time. In the binder she gave us, there was a mantra we could use to begin meditations with. Because I have, over the years, found her first two lines are completely adaptable to myriads of inner work, I include only those lines here:

I am ______________.

I am alive in a Universe that is alive!

There is much power and truth in these two simple lines – and they are wonderful to simply repeat as an affirmation when you feel down, stressed, uncomfortable – or even “just because.”

Eventually I will reprint her entire entry, but for now, tuck these words into your mind and use them as needed...

Keep Experimenting... Keep PLAYING!!!

For the next few days, keep playing with this energy you've discovered. If you have a physical pain somewhere, rub those hands together and place them on that part of your body.

Play with other people if you have someone around willing to enjoy the game with you!

Get creative!!

You can focus and “send” this energy back and forth, you can play with your pets if they are willing, you can do just about anything.

Don't worry that there might be some negative “consequence.” There is no way to cause harm. None. You can't hurt yourself or anyone else – if they don't want to absorb any energy, they simply won't. If they don't want to play, it will be obvious.

Just relax and have some fun for a few days and get to know what this energy feels like – it is the very stuff of life itself.

Re-Membering - Thoughts About A Word

Remembering...

Re-membering!

Today I want to talk a little bit about this particular word, especially given our contemplation about past, present and future...

What Does “Remember” Mean?

The dictionary meaning of the word “remember” is:

... 1: to have an (event, thing, person etc) come to mind again; think of again”
2: to bring back to mind by an effort; recollect, recall
3: to bear in mind; keep in the memory, be careful not to forget
4: to keep (a person) in mind with some feeling, ...”

Re-membering simply is the action of bringing something back into your mind, and feeling something about it.

Well, as I said on the home page, everything is energy. Feelings and thoughts are energy, too!

So, if you are thinking something – again – and having feelings about that thought, what the heck are you doing?

You are re-membering (re-constructing, re-structuring) whatever it is you are thinking about. You are creating that person, place, thing or event – again.

That sends a vibration out into the ethers. By feeling the feeling as you re-member, you are sending out even more energy.

What you send out is what comes back to you!!!!

I cannot stress this point enough (and we will re-visit the idea many times).

What Does Re-membering Do?

Well, now that all depends on your perspective!

If you re-member a joyful experience, then you send the vibrational energy of joy out, and joy is what must return to you. If, however, you are re-membering something that made you angry or hurt, well, the same thing happens.

It probably won't be an identical circumstance, but whatever circumstance happens, you will experience the identical feeling.

This is why it is important to gain control of our thoughts, and by association, our feelings. And yes – We are in complete control of both. It just takes practice.

What's with Re-?

The prefix “re-” can be taken, simply, to mean “again.” With the gift of free will, we are free to do again, with or without making a different choice...

Would you rather re-live a negative experience, or re-vise it? You can re-member, re-create, re-envision. You can re-lax, re-make, re-form!

GET IT?? I'd be willing to bet there was a little tickle in there somewhere -

There is subtle but profound – and infinite - power in this knowledge.

Thoughts Are Things

Anyone involved in metaphysics, self-development or most spiritual practices has heard this phrase. And, it is true.

Everything being energy, then thoughts are indeed things!

I was listening recently to a Google Hangout featuring a favorite speaker, Mary Morrissey. She was re-lating a past experience in which she'd had a profound awakening and healing. What stood out for me was her explanation of this concept, in which she said she was told, in part:

“Everything is created twice.”

Wow... she was told that everything, from the dis-ease she was experiencing, to the medicine she was given, and the treatments performed was created twice! First, it had to be an idea in someone's mind, and then it could be created in a tangible, physical form.

Think about this. What a concept!

She says (and was told) that we all know this, and really, we do. We all at some level realize that everything we encounter had to be “thought up” by somebody! If no one ever thought of it, would it exist at all?

Meanwhile, most of us do not ever grasp the power and the freedom associated with this idea.

We Create It All

Most of us, especially when we are struggling, cannot accept the idea that we are responsible for what is going on in our lives. We recoil at the idea that our cancer, rape or beating was caused by us.

Certainly, we would never choose these experiences! How on earth can we be responsible for what someone else has done to us, or which dis-ease took hold of our bodies?

It seems terribly heartless, cold and cruel to blame for any misfortunes that happen to them, and on a purely mundane level, rightly so.

On the level of Truth, though, we have created it all. Every bit of it. However, we have done so without knowing what it was that we were doing. There is no fault, no blame.

In this existence, “Like Attracts Like.” It can be no other way.

Well, cancer has a vibratory frequency. Violence, rape, war, poverty, abandonment – they all have a frequency. If you are vibrating at that frequency through self-loathing, self-doubt, anger, resentment, terror – then you are attracting experiences into your life that will match that vibration.

Re-membering YourSelf

What I want you to understand is that you are not to blame. It is not your fault – you didn't re-alize what you were doing.

All learning in the 3D world is actually a process of re-membering. I can't teach you anything. No one can teach you anything because You already have access to all knowledge and all understanding!

You already know. But, through the conditioning of countless generations, you have forgotten who and what You are.

Another insight Mary shared hit on this point. To paraphrase her concept -

At any point in history, we could have had light anywhere we wanted it. The “Law” of electricity did not simply manifest 100 or so years ago. Indeed, electricity has been around probably longer than our planet has! But, we didn't learn (re-member) how to work with it until 100 years ago.

It is that simple. But, now that you understand the underlying cause, it is up to you to learn (re-member) how to create differently!

Things to Do Today!

By now, you should be starting to get a handle on what sorts of thoughts you think to yourself every day. Even if its still just one out of thousands, You will have at least caught one thought. And, you will know how that thought made you feel.

I want you to continue doing this, but with a twist.

Just for today, for every thought you catch that does not make your heart sing, I want you to pause for a moment, notice the feeling, and then I want you to come up with the opposite thought!

Once you have discovered what the opposite of that negative thought is, I want you to re-peat it to yourSelf a few times. Just notice how it makes you feel.

Just notice it. Don't judge it, don't let yourself spiral with it. Then thank it, and move on to something else.

And.

The other thing I want you to do – and this was soooo hard for me in the beginning – is to stand in front of your mirror, look yourSelf in the eyes and state – OUT LOUD:

I love You. I respect You. I accept you, exactly as you are in this moment.”

For Most, This is NOT Easy

I know for a fact that this is hard on people. I stood in front of that mirror for 8 mornings before I could ever bring myself to utter a single word. Then I spent another week or two crying as I said those words! I'm not talking sniffles and a couple quiet tears. I balled my eyes out.

(So you know – crying is a sign of re-lease. You are re-leasing LIES about yourSelf that you have believed for a long, long time. If you feel like crying – do it! Do it to the point of exhaustion if you have to...

I promise you will feel better, it just takes time and commitment.

Go ahead and transfer that contract with all those lies you were taught about yourSelf to the ethers and create a new one! You deserve it!)

I did not understand the depths of my Self-loathing until I tried to do this. Once I had tried and failed, I did get the fact – on a heart level, not in my head – that I HAD to continue. There was simply no other acceptable choice for me. I had to be able to look myself in the eye and mean what I was saying.

You do too.

Re-solve to do this! It is the very first action step you must take in order to change your life.

It DOES get easier. And, the easier it gets, the more relief you will feel, the more you will be open to healing and uplifting any and every area of your life.

I cannot over-stress the importance of doing this.

No one is going to hear you. No one (but you, in the beginning) is going to judge you. No one will embarrass you, make fun of you or insult you.

If you don't believe it – that's fine. If it makes you cringe – do it anyway.

And, do it every day. Twice a day is better.

But for now, once is enough if you just can't bring yourSelf to that mirror twice.

“Danger Will Robinson, Danger!”

One last warning on this one... You might believe that this is too simple an idea to do anything about changing your life, and try to continue on without its benefit.

It is dangerous to judge simple as being ineffective.

My warning is simply this: IF you attempt to build a house on air, it will either never be built or it will float away. So, if you try to make permanent changes in your life without benefit of loving, respecting and accepting yourSelf, those changes are either not going to happen at all, or they will be fleeting and temporary.

What Day/Time/Season/Planet Is This??!

The reason I shared that simple exercise we did yesterday first was because we have to start where we are. There are no short-cuts. Sorry – I certainly understand if that's not what you wanted to hear! Believe me – I have to remind myself of that all the time!

self or Self??

By the way: I want to take a moment to explain my use of words. Much like Abraham, I choose different word forms to impress different ideas.

There are infinite meanings conveyed through words, but words and word-forms are talismans, and so they can be used to remind us of things we don't normally think of!

Also, just as with the Abraham teachings, these are not the only instances where I will do this – but for now, here's an example to let you know what I mean:

When I use a lower-case “s” in words like ourselves, myself and yourself, it is to denote the “little self” that we currently consider to be us. The beta-wave functioning, “conscious” self. The self with limited perspective and externally acquired knowledge.

When I use a capital “S” it is to denote our true Selves, the Self that we should be living from! Our Soul - our direct, uninhibited connection to/part of - God or Source. The unlimited, expansive and intrinsically knowledgeable Self! Our true Self.

Is Today the Same as Yesterday?

The obstacle we face most often is that we try to start from where we were yesterday. We wake up thinking about all the problems, disappointments and “issues” we already experienced.

In doing so, we lose hope. We lose perspective. We lose our ability to effectively operate in this world.

That's no way to live!

What happened yesterday happened. Its done. Over. Bye-bye! There is nothing you can do to change it by dwelling on it. (Yeah... we'll get into that later...)

Conversely, we wake up thinking about all the horrible possibilities and questions we have about “later.” The meeting we have this afternoon, the lack of money in our account when rent's due next week, the supposedly crashing economy that will cause us to lose our job, our home, etc etc, ad nauseum.

Well, none of that has happened yet, has it? No, not one iota of it.

You think you know its coming, and you've judged yourSelf incapable of a good outcome.

And, you have made that current decision based on what has happened in your life previously.

Or worse, on what has happened to others – also previously.

Stop it!
Evidence-based living is no way to go through life.

Again, that is the past. And we cannot change what occurred in the past. We certainly cannot change what happened to others in the past, either!

What About Where We Are NOW?

Today is a NEW day. You are a NEW you! The world is different – even though it might not look that way. Everything has changed.

Think back to yesterday's exercise... Remember?

What were you thinking, and how did it make you feel?

Not even the cells in Our bodies are the same as they were yesterday, so what makes us think that our circumstances have to stay the same??

Who or what is it that tells Us what We have to accept or settle for? That what happened in the past, or to others, must – without fail or option – happen to us now or in the future?

No one and nothing. Ever. Period.

Well, that's not exactly true – because that who or what that tells Us all these horrible untrue things is US. We do it to ourselves, and then we live from that idea. Ick!

Think About This:

Contemplate for a moment, if you will – the idea that if you set your alarm clock you can wake up at exactly the same time every day?

Is this possible?

NO!!!

Even if you wake up at the precise moment on the clock, you cannot wake up at that precise moment more than once – ever – in the entirety of your existence, right?!

That moment was gone yesterday. Even if you wake up at 8 o'clock on the dot every single day of your life, the fact is that you are waking up at 8 o'clock on a different, brand spanking new, never-before-experienced day.

The sun is in a different position in the sky. The earth is in a different position in the galaxy, and the galaxy is in a different position in the cosmos. Your body is 24 hours “older” and you have had myriad experiences since 8 o'clock yesterday morning. You have moved. You have breathed. You have spoken. Your heart has beat “x” number of times. Cells in your body have died, and others have been birthed to replace them.

Everything is different!

Mourning Your Morning is NOT an Option!

Now, this might seem like a no-brainer... The trick, though, is to experience this on a moment-to-moment basis! Each moment is like each day!! You will never again experience this particular moment.

Now, our current state of being is such that many of you will mourn the loss of these moments. What a waste...

Do not mourn the moments of Your life, or Life will give you plenty more mourning!

REJOICE that each and every moment, You get to make a new choice! You are open to unlimited possibilities – and You get every single moment from now on to choose to experience better and better things!

YOU get to choose. Every moment.

Again, this is something we all know, but it is something never thought about... Its these “little” ideas in the back of Our minds we don't tend to connect with.

It is in the connection that we find the breakthrough. The epiphany! In the space between the thoughts, in the silence between the sounds is where Truth lies.

It is the connection – or, rather – the re-connection, in the resonance, (the matching vibration!) that is the “Aha!”

As Wayne Dyer says: “I'll meet you in the gap!”

Since we're going to take it a bit slow (in the beginning), this is all I have for you today – just contemplate this idea. Think about it. Let it sink in.

You might not be able to get yourself all excited about it just yet, but that will come. I promise. For now, just play with the idea!

Getting to Know YOU!

Know Thyself...

Every thought, every word, every action is also energy. It has vibration. There is tone, color, light and feeling.

For the next 24 hours, simply begin the practice of noticing your thoughts, and how they make you feel.

No, this is not impossible! I know there are thousands of fleeting thoughts going through your mind, sometimes more than you can dissect. That's fine!

Just take a moment now and then to catch one!

Don't judge it, just notice what the thought was, and then take a moment to FEEL the feelings associated with it.

That's it.

Even if you can't put your finger on the exact thought itself, you can notice how you feel in your body.

Has your heart sunk, or are you smiling? Are you nervous, or angry? Depressed or elated? At peace?

It is far more important, at least for those new to these ideas, to really notice the feeling. Figuring out the thought will follow naturally – it is your Soul's way of introducing you to the idea that you are in control.

Your Soul will always be gentle. Circumstances will not.

Far better to learn what You are trying to teach you, than to constantly run around putting out fires and dodging mushroom clouds in your life!

Practice this as often as you remember to do so. It takes practice, and is a good thing to do several times a day – every day.

I know... I said “for the next 24 hours.” Well, my advice, then, would be to come back here first thing every morning and re-read this page! There simply is no more valuable knowledge on this planet than your knowledge of yourSelf. Period.

You can't own your power if you don't know your power.
